A police incident on Carbon Street forced the Minersville School District on lockdown Monday morning.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that on May 9, 2019, Jared Andrew Novy, age 39, of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 360 months’ imprisonment by United States District Court Judge A. Richard Caputo for the production of child pornography.
