Auburn Woman Awarded Second Place for Scrapbooking at PSACF

Linda Wolfe of Auburn recently was awarded the coveted second place award for the traditional scrap book at the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs held January 18- 22, 2017. The Communications Award for the Scrapbook follows the 2016 Schuylkill County Fair theme, “We Have Good Things Growing. The scrapbook must cover all areas of the fair blending the agricultural, commercial and entertainment aspects of the fair. It included a table of contents and list of Fair officers, with photo identification laid out in an overall creative appearance.

Blue Mountain 4-H Livestock Club Awarded

For a third year in a row the Blue Mt. 4-H Livestock Club was the recipient of the Outstanding 4-H Club Award. The 35 or more active club members are supervised by club leaders Kim Morgan and Jill Felty. The members range in age from 8 to 18. Besides having an interest in livestock, members all live along the Blue Mountain. Having no affiliation with the school district that share the same name, the members are students in school from Pine Grove, Schuylkill Haven, Blue Mountain and Tamaqua.

Students Mail Letters to Santa

On Friday, In keeping with the annual holiday tradition, North Schuylkill Elementary School’s Kindergarten classes mailed their letters to Santa Claus. 

Schuylkill County 4-H Scholarship Awarded

Congratulations were extended to Brendin Freeman as the recipient of the Schuylkill County 4-H Scholarship at the recently held Schuylkill County 4-H Achievement Night Banquet.

PHOTO: Tompkins Vist Bank Assists in Keeping Fair Prices Affordable

Tompkins Vist Bank presents funds to Charlie Kershner entertainment booking agent for Schuylkill County Fair and SCF Entertainment Chairman Grace Karrer. Funds were presented by Joe Hammond Vice President for Tompkins Vist Bank. The funds will help to provide assistance to the SCF to keep the gate admission at a very affordable level for all who attend the Fair August 1 through the 6.
