Ashland Pharmacy Robbed Tuesday Afternoon

Bracey Pharmacy, Centre Street, in Ashland was robbed Tuesday afternoon.

The robbery took place around 4:45pm.

The Republican Herald is reporting that a man entered the pharmacy with an object his sleeve and demanded  prescription medication.  The suspect then fled with a quantity of medication.

This will be the second robbery within the borough in just as many days.  Early Monday morning, the Turkey Hill on Centre Street was robbed as well.

Investigations are still ongoing for both robberies.

Walgreen's to Buy Rite-Aid

Walgreen's announced Tuesday that they will be purchasing the Rite-Aid Company.

The merger will combine the 2nd and 3rd largest drug stores.

Rite Aid was purchased for 17.2 Billion Dollars.

The deal will still have to pass an antitrust review.

Woman Facing Charges After Allegedly Smuggling Marijuana into A Federal Prison

According to WFMZ,  Jennifer A. Mitchell, of  Normal, Illinois, is facing charges after she allegedly tried to smuggle marijuana into the Schuylkill Federal Correctional Institution on Sunday.

Mitchell was sent to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post bail.

Schuylkill Haven Listening Session on the Clean Power Plan

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will hold a listening session on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, on the federal Clean Power Plan to reduce carbon emissions from power plants. General Motors is recalling over 1 million vehicles for fire causing oil leaks.

Ashland Convenient Store Robbed Early Monday Morning

The Ashland Turkey Hill located on Centre Street in Ashland was robbed early Monday.

Just after between 3:30 and 4:00am, the suspect entered the store and demanded money from the clerk.  Then ran off with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was described as wearing a mask with a grey hoodie and black pants.
