Koch's Turkey Farms Provides Turkeys for Governor's Residence

TAMAQUA, PA – Koch’s Turkey Farms, located in Walker Township, Schuylkill County will present two of the company’s signature Organic whole turkeys to Governor Tom Corbett and First Lady Susan Corbett on Tuesday, November 25th, 2014.

SNOW EMERGENCY - ASHLAND BOROUGH HAS DECLARED A SNOW EMERGENCY:
EFFECTIVE: Thursday November 27, 2014 from 2AM TO 6AM.
Parking will be prohibited on Hoffman Boulevard from Brock Street to Centre Street and also on Centre Street from Front Street to 23rd Street.
Residents are ordered to move their cars from these locations between 2AM and 6AM.
Any vehicles that are not moved from the above locations will be fined $50 and towed away at the owner’s expense.
Frackville

Frackville Mayor Kim Phillips announced the borough will enforce the Pennsylvania state snow emergency routes on state Route 61, Route 1008 and Route 924 within for the next 24 hours, starting at midnight on Wednesday. Nov. 26. until midnight on Thursday, Nov. 27. If an extension is needed, the media will be notified.
The snow emergency route policy states that snow tires or chains are required, no parking on emergency routes and vehicles will be towed away.

Mahanoy City

Snow Parking Ban Tonight 11/26/14.
Mayor has issued a snow parking ban. There will be NO PARKING between Midnight & 7AM on the following streets: Centre St. , Main St. , South St from 2nd Street west to Borough line. The earlier everyone moves there vehicles the easier it will be for Penn DOT to clear those streets.

Parking ban in effect from 8am Wednesday to 8am Thursday

Parking ban on Second Street and Hancock Street from 9am to 9pm

According to the Times News, the Tamaqua Borough Council was informed on Tuesday night that the Tamaqua Police have been cleared of any wrong doing in connection with the death of a man who died after being tasered by a stun gun back in August.

Butler Township Police Warn Public About Telephone Scam

Butler Township Police would like to warn public, especially the elderly, of a telephone scam being conducted in our area. The suspects are contacting person via landline telephone posing as IRS agents demanding immediate payment for back taxes and threatening imprisonment if demands are not met. Suspects are demanding that a green dot card be purchased to conduct the money transfer.
