Man Locked Up in Schuylkill County Prison for Failing to Comply with Megan's Law

A man from Schuylkill County is locked up in prison for failing to comply with his Megan's Law responsibilities.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, earlier this month Troopers were investigating a potential Megan's Law violation.

The investigation found that Artisan Rene La Chere, 75, of Orwigsburg, failed to comply with his mandatory Megan's Law Registration by failing to verify his address on North Market Street in East Brunswick Township and be photographed.

On May 17th, 2022, he was taken into custody, arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $10,000 straight cash bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 28th, 2022 before Magisterial District Judge Thomas H. Xavios.
