A man was injured earlier this week in a crash on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred on Sunday, June 12th, 2022 in the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 near mile marker 108.5.
Police say at the time of the crash, it was raining and Steven Atkins, 69, of Coatesville was rounding a right curve in the roadway.
Atkins lost control of his Volvo S40 on a right curve in the highway, went off the roadway and struck a rock embankment and a tree.
Emergency personnel had to use to the jaws of life to free Atkins from the vehicle.
The victim was transport to Hershey Medical Center via Tremont Ambulance for unknown injuries.
