The Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville have released details on Sunday's crash on Interstate 81 near Mahanoy City.
According to Troopers, the crash occurred around 12:40pm, as Michael Mckeon, 69, of Auburn, NY was driving north on Interstate 81 in a GMC Terrain.
Mckeon reportedly fell asleep at the wheel veering into the median near Mahanoy City Exit and drove off the bridge going airborne. The SUV rolled landing on it's roof on the Route 54 underpass below.
Mckeon and unnamed passenger were transported to helicopters and flown to area hospitals with unknown injuries.
