The crash occurred on February 23, 2026, at approximately 11:29 a.m. in the 200 block of Market Street.
Police say a 1995 Chevrolet GMT driven by Wayne L. Haller, 61, of Schuylkill Haven, was traveling east on Market Street when this vehicle began to travel onto the shoulder and struck a parked Ford Transit then struck a utility pole.
Haller was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the report. He was transported to Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital in Orwigsburg by Auburn Fire Company Ambulance Service.
Haller was later pronounced deceased at the hospital by Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner Andrew Szczyglak.
The crash remains under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven.
Emergency responders included Auburn EMS, Schuylkill EMS, Auburn Fire Department, Orwigsburg Fire Department, and Deer Lake Fire Department.
