With an intense winter storm expected to bring heavy snow, high winds, sleet and freezing rain across the state through this weekend, Governor Tom Wolf today signed a state of emergency declaration to allow for increased assistance with storm-related needs.
A weekend storm, which is expected to arrive in Schuylkill County early Saturday afternoon,
is expected to dump anywhere from 6-12 inches of snow by storm's end.
At a press conference Thursday morning, Schuylkill League and Colonial League representatives laid out the details and schedules for a new "scheduling cooperative" between the leagues.
