Pottsville Man Charged with Assault


A Pottsville man is facing assault charges after an alleged incident.
According to Pottsville Police Chief Richard Wojciechowsky, On Thursday, October 6th, 2022, around 10:10pm, Pottsville Police were dispatched to the 500 block of North 7th Street for a report of a domestic disturbance in progress. Additional information provided was that a female caller reported being struck in the face by a male inside the residence.

Police arrived on scene and spoke with a 26-year-old Pottsville woman who had visible injury to her face. The woman told police that she had been standing in her kitchen and facing the sink while having a verbal argument with her boyfriend, Travis Bernard Jackson, 25, of Pottsville. She added that as the argument ensued, Jackson continued to yell at her, and he struck her in the face from behind. The victim said Jackson’s strike was so strong that it knocked her glasses from her face, and she fell to the floor.

Jackson was taken into custody and a Criminal Complaint was completed by Ptlm Stephen Delinko charging Jackson with Simple Assault Pursuant to Domestic Violence, and Harassment by Physical Contact Pursuant to Domestic Violence. Jackson was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer who set bail at $10,000 unsecured and Jackson was released from custody pending further court action.
