Frackville Man Charged with Stealing Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars from Coal Company

According to WNEP, Mark Wolfe, 62, of Frackville, has been charged with stealing $400,000 from the Gilberton Coal Company.

Wolfe worked for the company for over 30 years and retired from the company in 2014.

An audit earlier this year revealed the missing money.

Wolfe reportedly stole the money by forging checks and from petty cash.

A preliminary hearing is set for November 25th.

Wolfe has been charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and forgery.

Attorney General Announces Settlement with Schuylkill County Woman Accused of Misrepresenting Herself as Attorney

HARRISBURG — Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane announced Tuesday a legal settlement with the company Christi L. Jones and Associates, Inc., and its president, Christi Jones. The settlement was filed by the Office of Attorney General's Bureau of Consumer Protection and approved by court order.

McCann Hosting Free VA Education Benefits Workshop on Veteran’s Day

Frackville Police Seeks Individual for Questioning

Frackville Police are looking for Tyler Bryan who is wanted for questioning related to an incident that happened in the Borough.

The Rush Township Police Department is investigating a theft that occurred on Monday, 11/09/2015 at Wal Mart in Hometown.

This past weekend's scores and the upcoming championship schedule for this weekend.

Lane restrictions are scheduled for this week near Pottsville.

Public Auction to Be Held on Items from the Former Cardinal Brennan Campus

A Public Auction will be held Saturday, November 14th, 2015 on free standing items from the former Cardinal Brennan Campus. The auction will begin at 10am at the former catholic school campus located on Academy Drive, Ashland.

The auction will include desks, lockers, tables, stainless steel caferia sinks and counters, chairs, slate boards, costumes, file cabinets, shelfs, and other items that are not attached to the building.

Items that WILL NOT be auctioned off are permanent fixtures such as shelving, cabinets, and pews will not be removed.

The auction is being conducted by Arner Auctioneer LLC. Terms include payment by cash or Pennsylvania check. No out of state checks will be accepted. No buyer's premium.

Schuylkill County District Attorney Christine Holman organized a Law Enforcement Symposium that took place Friday at the Ramada, in Pottsville.

Around 6:30pm, Thursday evening, emergency personnel were called to 400 South Lehigh Ave, Frackville for a motor vehicle accident.

A Frackville man is recovering after being assaulted on Halloween night.

Around 5:00PM Friday, emergency personnel were called to Route 183 and Blue Mountain Road near Schuylkill Haven for a motor vehicle accident with ejection.

A woman reportedly stole lottery tickets from Sam's Place in Cressona Mall around Noon Thursday.

Video posted on Facebook of the theft shows a woman walk in the front of the store, take a handful of tickets, then walk out the front door.

Bill Would Authorize Tax Credits for Emergency Responders

HARRISBURG – On Wednesday, Rep. Ryan Warner (R-Fayette/Westmoreland) introduced legislation that would authorize municipalities to enact earned income and property tax liability tax credits for active volunteers of a fire company or emergency medical service (EMS) company.

On 11/4/2015 at 2:30am an Rush Township Police Officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and upon further investigation found over 120 bags of heroin on the driver, Nathan Ross, of Nescopeck.

Schuylkill County School Districts' 2014-2015 School Performance Profile Scores

On Wednesday, the 2014-2015 School Performance Profile Scores were released to the public by the Department of Education.

On Wednesday, Frackville Borough Police arrested Hunter Hall of Gordon as the result of a drug investigation in the Borough.

Hall was found to be in possession of 80 bags of Heroin and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.

Hall was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hall was committed to the Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $25,000 straight cash bail.

Two Allegedly Steal Fire Equipment from Firetruck at the Scene of Fire Wednesday Morning

According to TamaquaArea.com, a man is in custody and another being questioned after allegedly stealing over $13,000 worth of fire equipment from a firetruck Wednesday morning while crews put out a fire in Tamaqua.

The two males reportedly worked together stealing the equipment from one of the Citizens Fire Company, Tamaqua truck.
