Argall Announces Winners of Photo Contest, Unveils New Calendar for 2017
On Tuesday, Senator David G. Argall (R-Schuylkill/Berks), unveiled the winners of his 2017 “Scenes of the 29th Senatorial District” calendar contest, which features photos from throughout Berks and Schuylkill counties.

Two Area Teens Compete in Skillathon at Pennsylvania Farm Show
Two area teens have proven that they have the right stuff to compete against other teens of similar age testing their general knowledge of livestock management. Collin Felty 13 of Schuylkill Haven by way of Tamaqua and Cassie Keller 13 of Orwigsburg recently competed against other teens their age at the 101st PA Farm Show. They competed in an event called a Skillathon. Both individuals placed in the top ten of the state. Collin placed 7th and Cassie placed 8th.

Two from Schuylkill County Busted By State for Welfare Fraud
From Oct. 1 to Nov. 30, 2016, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) successfully adjudicated 60 welfare fraud cases involving 45 individuals. These cases will bring the commonwealth $314,301.75 in restitution and will generate additional cost savings because the defendants will be temporarily disqualified from receiving future public benefits in the programs they defrauded.
