Shenandoah Valley Band Director Receives a $1000 Music Grant Award


Shenandoah Valley Music Instructor and Band Director Mr. John Shoener were recently notified by the Peter R. Marsh Foundation that his school was awarded a $1,000 Music Grant aimed at promoting activities sponsored by the school’s music education department.

Alvernia Awarded Pennsylvania RACP Grant to Renovate Former Giant for CollegeTowne Pottsville


Alvernia University announced on Wednesday that the college has received a $3 million grant from the Pennsylvania Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) to renovate its newly secured downtown Pottsville location at 500 Progress Avenue, for their Pottsville CollegeTowne strategy.

$2 Million Grant Awarded for Construction of New Tamaqua Police Station and Community Center


On Monday, Tamaqua Area Community Partnership Inc. was awarded $2 million for construction of Tamaqua’s new police station and community center through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), announced Rep. Jerry Knowles (R-Berks/Carbon/Schuylkill), who played a key role in securing the state funding.
